Job Description

Founded in 1848, Rhodes College is a highly selective, private, residential, undergraduate college, located in Memphis, Tennessee. This position is responsible for strengthening the position of the College through engaging constituents in the life of the College. This includes but is not limited to solicitations of leadership annual gifts from constituents. Direct the on-going development of the Red and Black Society ($1,000 - $4,999) including recruiting and managing the Executive Committee - its campaigns, meetings and other Red and Black programs or events. Cultivate prospects, solicit leadership annual gifts, and provide stewardship for a portfolio of donors. Coordinate mailing for the Charles E. Diehl Society. This position provides volunteers with necessary resources, training and support to be effective and develops close relationships with the volunteers in an effort to build closer ties with the college. This position requires flexibility to travel and work occasional weekends and evenings.

Bachelor's degree required. Three years of work experience, preferably in higher education development, nonprofit development, or public relations field. Must have exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Ability to relate well to the public is a must.
